Welcome to my home base on the web!

I have a wealth of experience in a number of fields, including computer science, archaeology, library operations, education, and many more. I enjoy sharing my passions with others, and helping them build skills.

My educational background includes a BA in Anthropology (University of Maine, 2013), a Certificate of Graduate Study in Geographic Information Systems (University of Maine, 2016), and an MS in Quaternary and Climate Studies (University of Maine, 2017; thesis: Spatial Organization and Erosion at the Holmes Point West Archaeological Site, Machiasport, Maine), as well as some PhD coursework in Spatial Information Science and Engineering at the University of Maine.

I currently work full-time at the largest library north of Boston, and carry a full-time teaching load between two institutions, the University of Maine and Eastern Maine Community College. Additionally, I do consulting periodically for the UMaine Department of Anthropology, most recently on a 3D modeling preservation project that I piloted in 2017, but has since been taken over by a current graduate student.

I have also, in the last decade, worked as the manager of UMaine’s Northeastern Prehistory Laboratory, a software developer at the VEMI (Virtual Environment and Multimodal Interaction) laboratory, and at a Montessori school.

Additionally, I host an online radio show on Deep Nuggets Radio (see Radio page for more information) that airs on Saturday nights.

When I am not busy doing all that other stuff, I have a variety of hobbies, including retro-gaming and vintage computing, tinkering, 3D printing, creating visual art, playing musical instruments, trying new craft beers, watching ice hockey, cooking, and more.

I am married and the proud “mom” to several rescue cats.

Thanks for checking out my website, and please send me a message if you are interested in any sort of collaboration or consultation; I am always up for hearing cool new ideas!
